Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Operating and driving heavy vehicles, ALL combinations of trailers.
- Transporting goods safely and efficiently over designated routes.
- Sign for their loads, including pre-departure documentation.
- Interact with customers upon delivery.
- Complying with all traffic laws and regulations related to heavy vehicle operation.
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
- Maintaining accurate records of driving hours, rest periods, and vehicle maintenance.
- Monitoring vehicle performance and promptly reporting mechanical issues.
- Adhering to company policies and safety procedures while on the road.
- Interacting professionally with customers and other road users.
- Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while managing delivery schedules.
Requirements:
- - Comfortable couple/decoupling trailers (essential)
- Comfortable reversing (essential)
- Able to operate side curtains on tautliners
- Be physically fit.
- Wharf experience desired
- Container Cartage experience
- Reliable and punctual.
- Friendly manner for customer interaction.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Local runs
- Have a clean police record.
- Able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
