Duties will include but not be limited to:

  •  Operating and driving heavy vehicles, ALL combinations of trailers.
  • Transporting goods safely and efficiently over designated routes.
  • Sign for their loads, including pre-departure documentation.
  • Interact with customers upon delivery.
  • Complying with all traffic laws and regulations related to heavy vehicle operation.
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
  • Maintaining accurate records of driving hours, rest periods, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Monitoring vehicle performance and promptly reporting mechanical issues.
  • Adhering to company policies and safety procedures while on the road.
  • Interacting professionally with customers and other road users.
  • Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while managing delivery schedules.

 

Requirements:

  •  - Comfortable couple/decoupling trailers (essential)
  •  Comfortable reversing (essential)
  • Able to operate side curtains on tautliners
  • Be physically fit.
  • Wharf experience desired
  • Container Cartage experience
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Friendly manner for customer interaction.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Local runs
  • Have a clean police record.
  • Able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
